about us

The Springfield Follies was founded in 1948 to raise funds for Springfield Junior School by Bert Taylor, Vic and Elise Sharman and members of the school’s Parents and Teachers Association.  Since then we have staged a pantomime every year.

Additionally in late spring / early summer we put together a variety show to showcase our wonderful casts talents.  Our aim is to promote the arts through encouraging drama and its associated activities for all ages.

We are proud to make donations annually in support of local charities.  Both our pantomime and variety show have retiring collections and we are grateful to our generous audiences who always dig deep for these worth while causes.  We also collect donations whilst singing at local Christmas markets and fetes.  More details of our charity work can be found here

Rehearsal nights are Mondays 7.30pm at St. Mary's Magdalen Church Hall Highfield Approach, Ipswich Suffolk IP1 6DF, with a break over the summer months. Read throughs, auditions and AGMs are also held at the church hall.

Performances are usually at Kesgrave Community Centre, Twelve Acre Approach, Kesgrave, IP5 1JF, and Castle Hill URC Church, Dryden Road, IP1 6QF.
